Both programs are administered by the Minnesota Department of Human Services at the state level and by county or Tribal human services agencies locally, so a family in Dakota County and a family in Anoka County apply through their own county's human services office rather than a separate metro-wide agency. Neither program pays room and board — that distinction carries over from EW — so families should not treat AC approval as covering an assisted living apartment's full monthly rate.
